Assistant Professor, Health Promotion and Human Development
Primary duties are to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in health and wellness coaching that provide a foundation in health psychology and behavior change. This position will be responsible for supervising practicum students in coaching clients. Other courses to be taught pertain to applied social and behavioral health and community mental health. In addition, scholarly activity, professional growth, and service to the profession, community and/or university are required for retention and tenure. Graduate courses are delivered 100% online.
Required Qualifications
EITHER professional certification in coaching plus a master’s degree and a commitment to earning a PhD within the first 5 years of employment
OR
– PhD or ABD with intent to complete doctorate within one year and a commitment to becoming professionally certified in coaching within the first 2 years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Professional coaching experience
– Experience in applied social and behavioral health and health behavior interventions
– Interest in community mental health issues (AODA, resiliency, stress)
– Demonstrated experience with diverse populations
– Familiarity with distance technology in coaching or teaching
