Wellness Coordinator
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Wellness Coordinator to work directly with one of our important National Account customers to promote a culture of wellness and encourage their workforce to be more connected to themselves and their community. This position will be virtual with the expectation of being onsite when requested.
This is a highly collaborative position working directly with the customer’s benefits team and executive leadership to develop programs in support of their wellness strategy. The Wellness Coordinator will work with cross-enterprise partners and other vendors to deliver tools and resources to execute the strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to bring their passion for wellness to a highly visible role executing a wellness strategy and driving engagement.
Role Responsibilities
- Be knowledgeable on the customer’s benefits program and how it is intended to support the customer’s broader approach to wellness
- Recommend, develop, coordinate, and manage wellness programs to reduce health risks and encourage healthy lifestyles within the customer’s population.
- Design (onsite, virtual and hybrid) strategies and communications to educate and promote use of wellness programs to drive engagement
- Promote and facilitate onsite/virtual/hybrid wellness events at various locations, coordinating with customers and benefits vendors, while answering questions about various programs and encouraging participation in available.
- Assess wellness program results and discuss results with the customer to promote improved engagement in health and wellness programs
- Develop communication and promotional materials to encourage utilization of the various benefit programs; work with the customer’s design/marketing team
- Conduct research for best practices, and leading and emerging trends; proactively share information about current national wellness initiatives
- When appropriate, travel to customer sites to educate, train and promote wellness programs
- Coordinate and facilitate the internal wellness champion network to promote wellness at onsite locations
- Partner with Aetna’s Plan Sponsor Insights clinical and analytical resources on program data analysis, as well as other vendor programs, and identify key drivers of impactable health risks.
- Participate in the preparation and delivery of client plan performance reviews and insights at regularly scheduled client meetings This is a virtual position with travel to sites as needed. Preferred geography is Long Island, NY and surrounding area (NY, NJ, CT, PA).
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience promoting and fostering a culture of wellness in a corporate environment
- 1+ years of experience with employee benefit programs; required
- 1+ years demonstrated project management experience; required
- 3+ years in employer health promotion and wellness
- 3+ years of experience with medical management products or wellness programs and services
- Candidate must be willing and able to complete WELCOA certification upon being hired in addition to any other certification they have

Preferred Qualifications
- Wellness program certification e.g. WELCOA, Chapman, Corporate Health and Wellness Association.
- Experienced with MS Office tools
- Clinical Environment Experience
- 3+ year of experience collaborating with senior leadership and developing content and presenting to executive stakeholders
- 1+ years of experience establishing highly collaborative relationships within and outside the organization.
- 3+ years of strong problem-solving skills and using analytic skills to turn data into information
- 1+ year fundamental knowledge of the healthcare industry
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum; relevant degree preferred
