As the Wellness Manager, it will be your responsibility to champion our existing programs as well as to plan, develop, coordinate and implement new initiatives.

DUTIES

  • Maintains a strategic operation plan for the Wellness Program along with HR, Safety and Department Managers.  The individual in this position is responsible for the strategic vision and cultural alignment of our Wellness Program, as well as achievement of that vision through various wellness initiatives and goals.
  • Directly supervises Wellness Coordinators in Chico and Mills River; indirectly supervises any Wellness interns
  • Defines goals and objectives of the program based on data collected through health screenings and assessments, health utilization records and employee surveys, and with alignment to our company goals, ideally in conjunction with our medical providers and wellness coordinators
  • Builds budget and is responsible for it
  • Designs, plans and oversees program components and interventions based on the wellness budget in consultation with HR and Safety. This may include contracting with outside vendors.
  • Designs legally-sound incentives and rewards within the budget to increase employee participation
  • Plans and designs marketing and communication campaigns
  • Oversees wellness message and content via internal communication venues
  • Provides quarterly evaluations for wellness initiatives and yearly reports on program participation, health outcomes and cost effectiveness
  • May participate in our Injury Prevention & Ergonomics program
  • Stays current and knowledgeable on trends in health education and new legislation, state laws, federal requirements, and national standards relating to workplace wellness and health education
  • Interfaces with contracted Medical Providers and other wellness-focused vendors, e.g., acupuncturists, massage therapists, nutritionists
  • In addition to the administration of our Wellness Program, this position may also provide advanced body work for the employee population

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Proven organizational and administrative skills including mastery of the MS Office suite required
    • Ability & willingness to work cooperatively with others
    • Attention to detail & confidentiality

 Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a health and wellness related field such as Health Promotion, Workplace Wellness, Kinesiology, Psychology is REQUIRED. Master’s Degree is preferred.
    • Requires previous experience administering Workplace Wellness programs that include:
      • Healthy eating and weight management
      • Fitness and physical activity
      • Stress management reduction & mindfulness
      • Tobacco cessation
      • Self-care
      • Behavior change
    • Prefer advanced body work training with college level anatomy training
      • A certificate in Massage Therapy with a minimum of 500 hours is preferred
      • Current certification or the ability to certify in ART is preferred

 Additional REQUIREMENTS to consider before applying

  • This position requires regular travel to our brewery in Mills River, NC and occasional travel for continuing education or training
  • A valid Driver’s License with a driving record free of any major violations within the last FIVE years is required
  • You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. 
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
